Welcome to Inspiractionnow.com

Pronounced: In-spire-ACTion-Now.

I love playing with words; inspiraction is an inspired word, because it takes both inspiration and action to create joyous results. I “downloaded” it one day and knew instantly that it was a word and a way of life that I must share.

Inspire is defined in the dictionary as:

1) the stimulation of the faculties to a higher level of feeling or activity,
2) the condition of being so stimulated,
3) something that is inspired, as an idea or action,
4) Theology. Divine guidance or influence exerted upon the mind and soul of man,
5) the act of breathing in.

6) Action: the state or process of acting or doing,
7) the transmission of energy, force, or influence

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.

Helen Keller

I first read those words when I was in my late twenties; I literally felt them in my bones and instantly declared I would live a life of adventure.

At the time, I was a pretty conventional woman; an RN, married with an adorable baby, great husband, house in the suburbs, a really nice lifestyle. I was living the life I had been programmed into as a child. It was a great life.

After I read those inspiring words, it was no longer enough. Those eight words inspired me to create a completely new – and better – life.

In the decades since I declared myself a woman of adventure, I’ve:

  • Completed a doctorate
  • Finished the Hawaii Ironman Triathlon – 12 hours, 45 minutes, 27 seconds.
  • Stood on the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro – 19, 350 feet.
  • Written 3/12 books, published two.
  • Published many articles, including in The Boston Globe, and The American Journal of Nursing.
  • Attempted a cross-country bike ride – bailed out within 400 miles.
  • Held leadership positions in the National Speakers Association and in
  • National Speakers Association – New England.
  • Left my marriage in my fifties.
  • Solo through-hiked the 2167-mile Appalachian Trail at the age of 59.
  • Contracted Lyme on the Trail and have spent 8 plus years recovering.
  • Been thousands of dollars in debt, erased that and once again become solvent.
  • Resumed running at age 66.

What’s that got to do with you?

At age eighteen, I was overweight (down from childhood obesity) and thought I was too stupid to go to college. Because somehow, I allowed myself to act on my inspirations, I’ve been able to piece together a phenomenal life.

I know what incredible joy comes from setting and achieving “Big, Hairy, Audacious Goals.” I also know that we all can life InspirACTional lives and be rich in any way we dare allow ourselves to dream.

Remember those old song lyrics? “Anything you can do, I can do better?” I know that anything I can YOU can do better.

The sole purpose of InspirACTionNOW.com is to inspire you and give you resources to reach out for your wildest dreams – and achieve them.
